每年春天，库肯霍夫公园就变成了一场视觉的飨宴。上百万的郁金香和其他球茎花卉争奇斗艳。这是一种适合所有年龄层的美妙体验，也是一个值得用相机纪录的精彩美景。公园里，错落有致的景色迎面而来，郁金香与其他球茎花卉布满80公亩大的土地，展现传统和现代的景观园艺。在展览馆中展出的花卉更是独特。令人赞叹的巧思、潮流与特色皆可作为花园造景的灵感。 15世纪时，库肯霍夫(Keukenhof)这个地方原本是一位女伯爵Countess Jacoba van Beieren的狩猎领地，当时女伯爵在后院种植了蔬果药材等烹调食用的植物，而将这个地方命名为Keukenhof。所以库肯霍夫在荷兰文的原义是：“厨房花园”，也就是“keuken(厨房)”与“hof (花园)”两个字合起来的意思。一直到1949年，一群来自丽丝(Lisse)的花农为创造一个开放空间式的花卉展览场地，于是计画将库肯霍夫这个地方规划成可以让花朵自然生长、吐蕊的花园，而后来参加的花卉业团体越来越多，花卉的种类也因这些人的投入，培育出更多的品种。每年9月底至初霜来临之前，库肯霍夫公园会种下7百万颗不同花种的球茎，其中郁金香就有约1000多种，在花农的细心照料照顾下，以期待隔年春天一片片花海，数百万花朵齐绽放争、奇斗艳的壮观美景。

You are guaranteed to see a mixture of flowers in bloom from March to May, but April travel dates are recommended for the greatest chance to see the gardens at their very best, including the tulips.
